Readers(Selection Grade Lecturers who put in 5years or more in the pre 1996scale as on 1 1 1996 were fixed at14940 or more on post 1996 Grade with weitages were simply ignored in the new report. The above referred members are really in the pay scale 14940 TO 18300.They must have been placed in the pay band 37000 to 67000in the new UGC report.
Especially those who retired getting above14940 and retired before 1 1 2006 without reaching maxIum 18300 stand to lose heavily in the fixation of pension. Moreover some of the above people in Govt institutes like NDA retired at the age of 58 because extension upto 60 came only in May 1998.However those people who were supposed to retire at 1997 at 58 got a stay order through court and got the benefit of serving up to the age of 60.So those who obeyed the order and retired at 58 in 1996 Jan and afterwards but before 1997 and never thought of going to court had to gulp the double curse of denial of financial benefits and much less pension. The above fact is regarding NDA one of the Academic Institytions unde Min Of Defence where the UGC scale has been in vogue from 1983
