Express News Service First Published : 01 Jun 2009 09:40:11 AM IST Last Updated : HYDERABAD: AP Aided Degree College Lecturers’ Association chairman NVP Rao has urged chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to appoint a committee to work out modalities for implementation of University Grants Commission pay revision recommendations pertaining to university and degree college teachers in the state who are drawing UGC scales of pay. In a statement today, he said the UGC had on February 28 instructed all state governments to implement the revised scales of pay and enhance the age of superannuation to 65 years to retain the rich experience of teachers. As per the recommendations made by the UGC Pay Revision Committee headed by Prof. Chadha and approved by the department of Human Resources Development of India, the recommendations have to be implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2006, Rao said. |
